Brandi Worely is full of smarts n' spunk. Her book " Crumb Snatchers " is on my list to read this Summer. She sent a signed copy and I cant wait to peel every page and report back. Before I read her book, I caught up with Brandi to ask a few questions. Eye lub her passion for INK at such a young age. Its refreshing. And its a kids book so Im feeling young already !!!

Too cute uh ? Meet Brandi !!!!

1. What inspired this book ?

Several things inspired me to write Crumb Snatchers. My ambition to be a writer inspired me a lot. My travels experiences, my love for people and my ability for storytelling.

2. Why the title " Crumb Snatchers " ?

I named my book Crumb Snatchers because the title says what the story is about. A crumb snatcher is a young thief. The story is about middle school aged kids and they steal things but they are petty thieves – they don’t steal cars; grand larceny or anything like that yet.

They are just snatching candy, coins – crumb stuff.

3. The story takes place in Louisiana, is it a personal connection to you ?

The story takes place in White Castle, Louisiana and a number of other little places in Louisiana – as well as New Orleans.I’m very much a Louisiana girl.
I’m connected to all of the places in the book.

4. Confess your favorite book and why ?

I don’t just have one favorite book. I have many. One would be Harry Potter (the series).
I love Harry Potter because J.K. Rowling is just brilliant. Reading her work over and over again brings my work to a higher level. I learn a lot from Rowling. Without Rowling, there probably would be no Crumb Snatchers.

5. What do your parents say about you doing so much, so young ?

They think it’s different. I receive a lot of support. I think my mom’s happy like any other mom would be. She’s really creative and different as well. It’s something like Nas and his dad, Olu Dara, or Will Smith on Jaden being an actor, or (the late) Michael and Joe. It’s all a part of a vision, a plan. Hard work.

6. You sign everything " Oprah I'm coming.. " wanna tell her sum-thang ?

I sign everything that way because it’s in the Bible to write things down, make them plain. I have a dream and I believe in it. I work hard. I’m just writing it down, make it plain.
I really like Oprah and she loves, loves to read. I’d just want her to know she’s an inspiration.

Your current web browser must be updated to version 7 of Internet Explorer (IE7) to take advantage of all of template's capabilities.

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
